IC A-CM Dark Aircraft - Tapetronic, Ring Mod & Karma Verb Test 2a2c (No Aircraft) (Mixdown).wav
Demonstration of Ring Modulator effect. A 3 minute improvised randomised note/chord sequence played back by two copies of a Tapetronic (Mellotron) Flute sound on either side of the stereo field, firstly unprocessed, then with a different ring modulator applied to both signals then other effects are gradually brought in to demonstrate the sonic possibilities. It is primarily a demonstration of Ring Modulators use with Reverb effects.
24 lanes of automation were used. Firstly a Sub-Mix track had been created to add effects to multiple tracks to save CPU usage. Here, two of the tracks placed with in the sub-mix have been muted, leaving just the first flute sound which had it's own FX as well. Then the second flute had it's own effects. All of these needed to be automated to demonstrate the effect and their volumes and left/right balance (Pan) adjusted accordingly.
The sub-mix track automation lanes ( & the effects used) were
1. Wet Mix (Acoustica Chorus)
2. On/Off (Pultronic Tube Eq)
3. Mix Level (Classic Delay)
4. Reverb Level (CMVerb)
5. Dry Level (GSpace)
6. Wet Level (GSpace)
7. Feedback Level (Classic Delay)
The first Flute (which appears in the sub-mix track) also had the following automation lanes in it's track
8.Oscillator 1 - Depth (MRingModulator)
9. Oscillator 2 - Depth (MRingModulator)
10. Wet Level (KarmaFX Reverb)
11. Track Volume
12. Track Pan
13. Oscillator 1 - Frequency (MRingModulator)
14. Oscillator 2 - Frequency (MRingModulator)
15. Oscillator 1 - Phase (MRingModulator)
16. Oscillator 2 - Phase (MRingModulator)
17. Release Time (Tapetronic Flute)
The second Flute appeared on track 2 (Sub-mix 1 being track 1)
It's automation lanes were
18. Spectrum (Ring Modulator 101 Free)
19. Gain (Ring Modulator 101 Free)
20. Dry Level (KarmaFX Reverb)
21. Wet Level (KarmaFX Reverb)
22. Track Pan
23. Track Volume
24. Release Time (Tapetronic Flute)
