about

2nd version (like a Stranglers B-Side from 1980 in the form of a Killing Joke track)
Retesting function of Xpand2 Virtual Instrument, I layered some simple patterns and started thinking the sound would benefit from some very loud guitar, so I recorded a long solo through the Waves GTR Stompbox plugin and layered 3 copies using different guitar multi-presets. Then I took the guitar and fed it through Melodyne and converted the output to MIDI data so that the notes of my improvisation could be played back by various synth sounds on top of the guitar sounds so that I could try to get a portamento type synth sound similar to the synth solo sound on my track 'Distant Insanity Brought Home' (From 2002 - see elsewhere on this website). Whilst listening back to my workings it occurred to me that the phrase 'Remember that I love you' would fit perfectly over one of the original phrases done on the Xpand2 synth, so I recorded that. Then it occurred to me that the phrase 'I love you' can sound like 'I'll 'ave ya' and this caused me to think about how the only effective control that human beings ever respond to is love, and not for example Law (as the Rolling Stones noted in their track 'We Love You' in the 1960s, which was about them being locked up for drug possession while the state seemed to be claiming that they lock people up because they care so much about them). Anyway, this is just the outline so far, obvious some more words will probably come into it at some point which will draw out the essences of the idea structure more clearly and the music will develop more in the background
